How Do You Know The Difference between The Dye Sublimation Ink and Pigment Ink?

  We all know that with the different forms printing method, there must be many different ink for printing. For example, for the sublimation printing we should use the sublimation ink, for the eco-solvent printing we should use the eco-solvent inks. While do you know what's the difference between the inks? Keep read the following and I will firstly share you the difference between the dye sublimation ink and the pigment ink.

  Firstly, have a brief introduce about the pigment ink. Pigments are solid, opaque particles suspended in ink to provide color.  Pigment molecules typically link together in crystalline structures that are 0.1-2 μm in size and include 5-30 percent of the ink volume. Qualities such as hue , saturation, and lightness vary depending on the source and type of pigment.

Water Resistance
  Then from the side of the water resistance, do you know the difference between the sublimation ink and the pigment ink? We all know that the dye sublimation ink is a water based ink. So the sublimation ink dissolve readily in water whilst pigment inks do not. Because of this difference, dye sublimation ink flow through printers more easily, this makes more people choose it for the inkjet printing.
  Pigment particles differ in the sense that instead of being absorbed into the media, they become intertwined within the label fibers. Thus, pigmented inks are more water resistant than dye-based inks. 

Fade Resistance
  You can think of them when on paper as similar to a beach covered with sand.  The ink is laid in a predominately flat fashion creating a high surface area. Because of this, dye sublimation inks tend to fade quicker, since all of the molecules are exposed to the light, causing the chemical reactions which inevitably lead to a fading effect in as little as 6-12 weeks. However, if your labels are protected from sunlight, they can last up to several years.
  New Technology by Epson original ink and others in the industry has been developed in order to reduce the effect light has on dye ink. With the right combination of ink and media, it is possible to achieve resistance somewhat comparable to pigment based inks.

Printing Effect
  Dye sublimation inks excel at producing high color vibrancy and saturation with exceptional image detail. While the pigment inks don’t produce as vibrant colors as dye, although they can still produce great quality prints.Where pigment inks do stand out is their durability. If your application demands for highly legible text and or artwork that can stand the test of time, such as GHS labeling, then pigment is the choice for you. And mostly the dye sublimation inks are used for the fabrics and some home interiors produce.

These all produces are necessary in the whole sublimation process. Then apart from this, the sublimation ink is also a very important one in the first printing process-----sublimation ink.


  We all know the quality of the sublimation ink can determine you final transfer effect. So have a right choice of the sublimation ink is very important, then today I will share you 4 steps for you to identify the quality of the sublimation ink. Read the following and get to know more.

Step 1 Ink Color Reduction Rate
  Sublimation ink is mainly through the sublimation of the characteristics of the transfer to the printing material, so the color reduction rate is one of the very important factors. The ink color reduce rate means the color left on the sublimation paper after transfer. If the color is lighter in the sublimation paper after transfer means the quality of the sublimation ink is better.  Usually the reduction rate of imported ink is close to 90%. In this case, there is no pattern on the heat transfer paper after transfer, almost white. The higher the rate of reduction of the color, then the transfer to the printing material on the pattern of color saturation is higher.

Step 2 The Size of The Ink Particles
  Large particles of sublimation ink prone to the phenomenon of printer plug, and will lead to the screen texture is not enough enough. Usually, on the instructions of the sublimation ink, the manufacturers may mark the specific data of the ink particles. But sometimes in order to make sure you can ask your suppliers the sample for you to have a test.

Step 3 Ink Color Purity
  For the sublimation transfer ink, the black ink is the most easy to color. For a low-quality sublimation of ink, black ink will be some red and purple. Check the quality of ink quality, by looking at the purity of black ink is also the most direct and effective way.

Step 4 The Price of Ink
  Usually, sublimation ink is divided into imported ink, domestic ink and imported materials, domestic production. Imported ink is mainly divided into Italian imports of sublimation ink, South Korea imports of sublimation ink and imports of German sublimation ink; domestic ink, as the name suggests is the use of domestic raw materials, domestic production. Or your ink will be degenerated if you can't save it in a right way. Then today I will share you some right ways for you to store your sublimation ink. Temperature
Tip 1 
  The storehouse is better keep a constant temperature, which is almost the same with printing shop’s. You should put the ink in the printing shop in advance if there is a big temperature difference between the two. Thus not only conducive to the stability of the ink performance, also ensure the production efficiency. 
Tip 2 
  In some cold areas, you should avoid storing the ink outdoors, to prevent the ink at a low temperature occurs cementations. If the ink occurs cementations, you can move it to the high temperature of the warehouse or put it in hot water to make it restore. 

Environment
Tip 1 
  Ink should be away from the fire and heat source, to prevent the occurrence of accidents.  
Tip 2 
   The remaining ink must be sealed and stored in the shadows. It must be filtered with more than 100 mesh screen, fully stirred, and then mixed with new ink. 

Usage
Tip 1
  Use it quickly. Long time storage will affect its use. Normally, the ink should be used during one year once it was open. 
Tip 2
  Avoid dust. If your sublimation ink has been opened already, you should better use it all and don't leave it with opened.

The printing and transferring is just make the colors you want onto the other surfaces,such as the paper and the fabric. Then the sublimation ink is the premise of the color. Then today I will share you some  special characteristic and and advantages of the famous high quality ink-----J-teck sublimation ink.

  The brand of J-teck sublimation ink is come from Italy. It has high quality and technology in this ink. The reputation of this ink is same as the KIIAN sublimation ink.   Firstly, the J-teck sublimation ink is a water based ink. It's water-based can reach to 30% reduced viscosity. With this it can dries fast on any coated paper with less deflection. Then it  has less deflection allowing for greater printing accuracy. Not only the ink has it's characteristic, all packaging material is biodegradable or made from recycled materials.

  Secondly, introduce from the printing side. J-Teck sublimation inks are dispersed dyes within an eco-friendly liquid carrier that are printed onto paper.The dispersed dyes are transferred from the paper to a textile creating a vibrant image. The formula of this J-teck sublimation ink make it possible for the dyes to run through high speed print heads without clogging. Sublimation inks have a wide variety of applications, from sports-wear to plastic substrates. What's more, with so many different special series, especially for J-Teck J-NEXT series and J-CUBE series, these two series are mainly suitable for different print heads.

  Last, information share from the side of application. The J-teck sublimation ink can be used in the polyester & polyamid fabrics, mixed synthetic fabrics (min. 60% of synthetic fibres). In the popular speaking, you can use it for the color print and transfer of the hard materials such as the plastic substrates used in the manufacturing of sport equipment such as skis, snowboards, wake boards, every substrates (wood, glass, ceramics) overprinted with polyester-based coating, also the light polyester fabric, such as poly/lycra, chiffon, satin, mesh fabric, curtain fabric etc.
